Objective
First and foremost we would like to develop excellent tennis players and athletes who have a passion for the sport and strive only to be the best that they can possibly be. Sportsmanship is something we emphasize in our CCA because learning how to persevere through challenging moments with grace and composure is an important life value.
ACS-Independent’s tennis team believes in the holistic nurturing of all tennis players in all areas of school life and beyond. We are not satisfied with producing only excellent tennis players, but also developing as “Scholars, Officers, and Gentlemen” (Years 1 to 4) and “Scholars, Leaders and Global Citizens” (Years 5 and 6).
As the saying “United We Stand, Divided We Fall”, a cohesive team is also of utmost importance. Members of the CCA are encouraged to help each other to hone their skills in tennis, as well as lend a helping hand in academic pursuits.
To sum it up, Tennis at ACS (Independent) involves going beyond the boundaries of the courts and supporting one another as we strive to be the best. We continue to put our trust in the Lord and believe that He will help us attain our goals.
“The BEST IS YET TO BE!”
Acknowledgements
We would like to thank our former teacher-in-charge, Mr. Steven Ng, for his dedication, care and enthusiasm throughout these years. Though we are saddened to see him leave, on behalf of the members of the tennis fraternity and the school, we would like to wish him good luck and all the best in his future endeavours.
We would also like to thank our tennis coach, Mr. Sergio Gaoni. We thank him for grooming each and every one of us and for imparting to us, his knowledge of the game. We truly would not be the tennis players we are today, if not for his constant encouragement, dedication and support. Our team would most definitely keep in mind all the valuable lessons he had taught us.
