Achievements

This year the many new members joined Chess Club most of them were from Year 1.

In the first month of the Year 2007, Daniel Chan from 1.7 Philemon participated in the 25th National Age Group Chess Championships 2007 held on the 6,7,13,14 January 2007, organized by the Singapore Chess Federation and won the GOLD for the Open (Under 20) category. Daniel will be selected for the National Youth Squad and will qualify directly to play in the Finals for the National Men Squad selection.

Daniel tied for 1st place in the National Age Group Chess Championships, but he won the Championships after the playoff. Daniel had also tied for Silver in the Boys (Under 13) category in the Asian Schools Chess Festival held on December 2006.

Daniel played in the finals of the Men's National Championship from 2-11 Feb 07. We are proud to inform you that Daniel finished 5th position out of 11 players. He is now a member of Singapore’s National Men's Squad.
